YOUR CONSULTATION Consultations in our office are different in that you spend approximately 30 to 45 minutes one-on-one with Dr. Morello, who personally explains the procedures and does computer imaging. Our patients find this preferable to having office personnel or a nurse explain the surgery (as is done in many offices). The only way that a plastic surgeon can understand your goals and ultimately fulfill them is to thoroughly discuss them with you. Both doctor and patient evaluate carefully to see if there is a mutual "comfort zone". There is no substitute for this personal time and attention! Usually, at the end of the consultation, I am able to form a consensus if I can be the surgeon and I will say something like: "I believe you will have a significant result (excellent result, etc) and I will be very pleased to be your surgeon." I make a conscientious effort to instruct all prospective patients in the diverse aspects of aesthetic surgery. I will carefully listen to your wishes and desires, discuss your options, perform a thorough evaluation, and make recommendations. During this time, I will also explain the cost structure and outline the fees for the procedures you may be interested in pursuing. This is a very informative and thorough consultation. I will also focus on the technical details of the procedures and individualize your surgical plan. I will explain the specific techniques, answer questions, and provide informed consent information for you. After our meeting, you will have an opportunity to visit with my Patient Care Coordinator and if you wish, schedule your surgery. We will also review your arrangements for rides home, hotel accommodations and homecare as needed. A complete tour of our surgery facility can be arranged at the time of your consultation.
